THURSDAY JUNE 17, 2010

International Dinner (Ticketed Dinner) – The Montréal 2010 Preconvention Rotaract Host Committee theme for this year’s preconvention is “Joie de Vivre!” which translates as “lust for life!” Help us kick things off right and introduce you to the hospitality and “joie de vivre” with an International Dinner to celebrate the global reaches of Rotaract. Taste food from around the world—a ll right here in Montreal! Come dressed to represent, by wearing traditional clothing of your country or culture, or by wearing your country’s colours. We can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Scavenger Hunt – Get to know the 2010 Rotary Convention host city of Montréal on this adventure of exploration. What are we doing? Well, you will soon find out. It is going to be a wonderful way to kick start your weekend with us, and a great way to know your fellow Rotaractors.

Note: If you aren’t feeling too jet lagged afterwards, check out the FrancoFolies French Music Festival, taking place at La Place des Arts just down the road from the Rotaract Hotel!

FRIDAY JUNE 18, 2010

Old Port – If you don’t need too long to get dressed up for the evening, take some time to explore the Old Port. Montréal’s heritage neighbourhood, with almost four centuries of history, boasts cobblestone streets and centuries-old architecture. Browse the many art galleries and boutiques, check out Notre-Dame Basilica, and the beautiful St. Lawrence River.

Altitude Club 737 (Ticketed Event) – This dance club sits at 737 feet above street level, perched atop Place Ville-Marie, with three different floors and two huge patios. There is a 360-degree view of Montréal, perfect for viewing the International Fireworks Festival. (Note: Dress code in effect)

SATURDAY JUNE 19, 2010

Shopping on Ste. Catherine Street – Apart from all the wonderful culture and history that Montréal boasts, let us not forget about its proud identity as one of Canada’s fashion capitals! There’s bound to be something for every style and budget along Ste. Catherine, one of the most iconic streets of Montréal.

Fancy Dinner at Lion D’Or (Ticketed Dinner and Show) – There is no better way to experience Montreal than to get a taste of its delicious culinary flavours. Come join us for a networking reception followed by a three-course meal at Le Lion D’Or, a historic art-deco style cabaret minutes from downtown Montreal. Sit back with a glass of wine (or your favourite non-alcoholic beverage) and enjoy an evening of lively traditional Quebec folk music that is guaranteed to get your feet moving! Complimentary return transportation will be provided from/to McGill New Residence (the official Rotaract Hotel) for all ticket holders.
